January 2019 Monthly Dinner Meeting

Join us on Thursday, January 24th for a Dinner Meeting in Thousand Oaks

Topic: Servant Leadership

Speaker: Dr. Kamal Inamdar, PhD.

"The Power of Servant Leadership" is a collection of Robert Greenleaf's finest and most mature works and an unexpected sequel to his "Servant Leadership." These pieces were designed to stimulate and inspire people in the practice of a more caring leadership and reflect Greenleaf's continual refinement of his servant-as-leader concept, focusing on issues such as spirit, commitment to vision, and seeing things whole. He defines the servant-leader is a servant first… It begins with the natural feeling that one wants to serve, to serve first. Then conscious choice brings one to aspire to lead. That person is sharply different from one who is a leader first, perhaps because of the need to assuage an unusual power drive or to acquire material possessions…The leader-first and the servant-first are two extreme types. Between them, there are shadings and blends that are part of the infinite variety of human nature.

On an important decision one rarely has 100% of the information needed for a good decision no matter how much one spends or how long one waits. And, if one waits too long, he has a different problem and has to start all over. This is the terrible dilemma of the hesitant decision maker.

Servant leadership is a new definition for an ancient concept. We can read these concepts in the history books quoted by the most successful rulers and global leaders in social and business venues

Dr. Inamdar will share over 11 themes and seventy quotes to fire up the audience with what leadership should mean to us.
