Business Acumen

GUEST SPEAKER: Jenny (aka Yevgeniya) Burg

Jenny Burg is a U.S. Navy veteran who spent 25 years managing large-scale projects and programs in the transportation, technology, and healthcare industries within public and private sectors.  She is highly skilled at bringing together a variety of stakeholders and executive decision makers to establish and mature project management office (PMO) frameworks from foundational capabilities to highly sophisticated governance and controls processes supporting large-scale commercial or government-funded infrastructure project portfolios.  She currently leads Amtrak’s Enterprise Capital Project Governance department, which encompasses enterprise PMO, portfolio governance and compliance, and capital finance controls functions.  Jenny was also a speaker at the PMI Global Summit in Atlanta this year.

Topic Overview:

Are you a great project or program manager and now want to run a project management office (PMO)?  Have you applied and interviewed for PMO leader positions and never received a call back?  This presentation is for you!

Jenny will discuss what everyone thinks PMO leaders do and how the actual PMO leader job expectations have significant variability.  Today, we will dispel PMO leader myths and talk about what PMO leadership is all about.

At the conclusion of this webinar, attendees will be able to:

  • Identify the key skills for successful PMO leaders; and
  • Build a sustainable PMO leadership career path.
